This method makes it possible to reveal finger prints on any paper support by means of a chemical treatment and of a light (photonic) exposure 1. The chemical solutions are based on ninhydrin 2, the chemical solutions used having no harmful effects for the user 3. The light (photonic) exposure is produced by an infrared laser 4. The supports are emersed in the chemical solution. A drying operation in ambient air is then carried out, followed by treatment of the finger prints revealed under laser exposure 5. The method does not damage the supports and can be repeated 6. The light (photonic) treatment allows a gain in comparison points on the revealed fingerprints of 80 to 350% 7. The object of the method as a whole is the identification of persons.
