PURPOSE:The titled furnace carbon black for extremely improving blackness when the carbon black is blended with rubber, obtained by blending furnace carbon black with a specific amount of sodium and/or potassium hydroxide to attach sodium and/or potassium hydroxide to the carbon black. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. furnace carbon black which is obtained by subjecting petroleum and/or coal heavy oil to partial combustion or thermal decomposition in a furnace and has 20-160m<2>/g specific surface area by nitrogen adsorption and <=2% volatile content is blended with 0.05-2pts.wt. calculated as metal of sodium and/or potassium hydroxide and the sodium and/or potassium hydroxide is attached to the carbon black particles.
