PURPOSE:To improve developed color density and color forming sensitivity, by using specified compounds respectively as an electron-donative colorless dye and an electron-acceptive compound. CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording material using compounds of general formula (I) and general formula (II) respectively as an electron-donative colorless dye and an electron-acceptive compound is obtained. In the formulas, R1 is a 1-10C bivalent group, each of R2, R3, R4 and R5 is hydrogen, a lower alkyl, lower alkoxyl, halogen, lower alkenyl or hydroxyl, X is oxygen or CO2, while each of Ar1 and Ar2 is an aromatic ring, R6 is a 1-10C bivalent group, and Y is oxygen, sulfur or CO2. A thermal recording material comprising the electron-acceptive compound and a flux has a sufficient developed color density and a sufficient color forming sensitivity, is less subject to lowering of the sensitivity with time or fogging, and has sufficient fastness of developed color. |
