PURPOSE:To test weather resistance in a state as close to a natural state as possible by providing a temperature control means and a humidifier and giving them specific operating conditions through a control means. CONSTITUTION:This testing instrument consisting of a testing instrument main body 3 provided with a partition chamber 2 for ultraviolet-ray irradiation, a light source device 4 as an ultraviolet-ray generation source installed at the upper part in the chamber 2, a sample mount base 7 installed below the device 4, a circulation duct 18 for temperature control, the humidifier 12, a controller 30, and a heat exchanger 36. The controller 30 holds a sample S placed on the base 7 at preset temperature during the on operation of a metal halide lamp 1 and commands the generation source 4, humidifier 12, etc., to operate in the off operation so as to condense dew on the same S. Consequently, an opening at the lower part of a reflecting plate is closed by a shield plate 34 which transmits an ultraviolet ray and cuts off steam to partition the reflecting plate inside and the other parts of the section chamber 2 where the sample is position. Consequently, dew condensation on the part where the ultraviolet-ray irradiation is impeded is precluded and the control objective space of temperature and humidity is reduced to facilitate the control and improve the accuracy.
