PURPOSE:To provide a motor commonly used for full-closed fan-cooled type and open type, by a method wherein a draft hole is provided on a rotor and a window is provided on an outer frame. CONSTITUTION:A bearing bracket 14 at direct-coupled side and a bearing bracket 15 at non-direct-coupled side are provided with a window (c) of any shape, and a detachable cover 16 is mounted on the window. A rotor core 13 is provided with axial draft holes (b) of any number in the circumferential direction. The motor becomes a full-closed fan-cooled motor in use as it is, and cooling air of an external fan 9 flows outside of a stationary frame 2. When the cover 16 is detached, the motor becomes an open type motor, and cooling air flows outside of the stationary frame 2 and also from the window (c) through the draft hole (b), thereby its output can be increased by 20%.
