PURPOSE:To construct the joints of underground continuous walls economically and efficiently by a method in which the joint face of preceding underground wall is cut in an uniform thickness by using an excavator having a sidewise width slightly larger than that of the preceding underground wall. CONSTITUTION:The ground is excavated sideward at a given interval and a preceding underground wall 2A is constructed. The ground for a following underground wall 2B is excavated by using an excavator 6 of a sidewise with slightly larger than that of the wall 2A, in which a plurality of cutters 6c are attached to the surface of a cylindrical face 6b with horizontal rotary shaft 6a. The joint end portion of the walls 2A on both sides is cut off slightly and concrete is placed to the following wall 2B portion to form an underground continuous wall 2. Since the end portion of the walls 2A can be cut off in an uniform thickness and in parallel with small excavating resistances, underground continuous walls 2 can be connectedly constructed with good efficiency by closely connecting the concrete of the walls 2B.
