False-twist crimping machines have a multiplicity of machining stations. The winding devices are arranged in such a way that the spindle axes are aligned in the longitudinal direction of the machine. This is not conducive to servicing and particularly to automation. The winding devices 31 are therefore arranged in such a way that the spindles 32 project perpendicularly from the machine front. The winding devices 31 are arranged one above the other in vertical columns.
