In order to increase the signal effect which is necessary especially for warning and/or informatory signs with predetermined outlines and colours, and the numbers and letters, words and/or symbols and/or pictograms shown on the surfaces, the abovementioned signs are, inter alia, produced wholly or partially as movement objects, in the form of a base surface provided with a linear grid which in each case shows the motif printed on it, and a grid with its struts, which are closer together than the lines of the base surface, which grid is fixedly mounted parallel or approximately parallel to the base surface at a non-prescribed distance in front of it, and, for example, a word appears to come towards the observer visually from the object or move away from him towards the object if he approaches the object, moves away from it or passes by it or moves in front of it.
