A fastener is to be proposed for a box-shaped collecting container and an associated plastic lid, which fastener can be produced from the same material and few constituents together with the collecting container and the lid. This is achieved in that an elongate bulge which is open at the bottom is formed in the lid with lateral continuations which run directed towards one another in the plane of the lid and into which there is inserted an insertion plate which is displaceable in the bulge and has lateral continuations which run directed away from one another in the plane of the lid, said insertion plate having a cutout and a notch for a blocking member which can slide back and forth therein and engages with an upper end through an opening in the lid bulge and with a lower angled end through an opening in a horizontally extending wall part of the container.
