A ball-and-socket joint (102) connects power-transmitting components for relative swivelling movement. The ball-and-socket joint (102) contains a socket (112), a ball shaft (114) and a deformable elastomer material (116). The socket (112) is connected to one power-transmitting component. The socket (112) has an opening (130) and a surface forms a chamber (156). The ball shaft (114) is connected to the other power-transmitting component. The ball shaft (114) contains a spherical component (132) and a shaft component (134) projecting from this spherical component. The spherical component (132) is arranged in the chamber (156) and the shaft component (134) projects through the opening (130). The spherical component (132) contains at least one space (142) formed by a surface. The deformable elastomer material (116) is located between the socket (112) and the spherical component (132) in order to create an elastic connection between the two components. Because of a movement of the ball shaft (114) relative to the socket (112), the deformable elastomer material (116) forces the ball shaft (114) back again into an original position relative to the socket. The elastomer material (116) has at least one component projecting into the space (142) of the spherical component (132) to form a positive connection between the elastomer layer and the ball shaft (114). The component projecting into the space (142) prevents the elastomer layer slipping relative to the ball shaft (114). <IMAGE> |
