PURPOSE:To increase allowable displacement of a fender as well as greatly increase energy to be absorbed by the fender by a method in which at least one side of the fitting part is made slidable to the fitting face of quaywall, etc., and both fitting parts are fixed by anchors. CONSTITUTION:A fender consists of paired supporters 1, an inpact receiver 2 and fitting parts 3 to be reinforced by burying reinforcing steel plates 4. At least one of the fitting parts 3 is provided with a small long hole 5 in the widthwise direction of the fender, together with the reinforcing steel plates 4. The deformation of the fender 1, which is a compressive deformation accompanying bending by outward expansion of the supporter 1, adds to the sliding movement of the fitting parts 4. Energy to be absorbed by the fender can thus be increased without altering the size of the fender, and the cost of the fender is reduced and the repairing of the quaywall is simplified. |
