PURPOSE:To widen the exposing latitude of line image photography by providing an emulsion layer contg. a hydrazine deriv. and emulsion layer contg. a specific hydroquinone deriv. and/or quinone deriv. CONSTITUTION:The hydrazine deriv. (e.g.; the compd. expressed by the formula I) is incorporated into at least one layer of the halide emulsion layer, and the hydroquinone deriv. expressed by the formula II and the quinone deriv. expressed by the formula III are incorporated into at least one layer of the emulsion layers except the lowermost layer. In the formula I, R1 denotes an aliphat. or arom. group, R2 denotes H, alkyl, aryl, G denotes carbonyl, sulfonyl, phosphoryl, etc. In the formulas II, III, A, A' denote H, phenolic hydroxyl group which can be eliminated during the development process, R3, R4 denote a substituent of <=0.3sigmaP, of Hammetts' rule, R6, X denote H, substituent having positive sigmaP value, and further at least one of R3-R6 and substituent of X denote a nitrogenous heterocycle substd. with >=1 nitros. |
