The invention relates to electronic devices for controlling a three-phase induction motor (5) mounted in star or triangle configuration, making it possible to effect a gradual start-up by reducing the electrical surges and the mechanical shocks in the said motor. The device consists of two electronic modules (100) and (200) controlling the electronic switches (101) and (201) and two series resistors (102), (202). The starter device can be supplemented with an electromagnetic braking device which is active upon switching off the voltage to the three-phase induction motor consisting of the capacitors (30), (31), (32), the resistors (27), (28), (29), (33), (34), (35) and the electronic switches (21) and (22). <IMAGE>
