<p>PURPOSE:To nip in the bud the destruction of the coil covering of an electrically-driven motor by stopping automatically the electric motor when the temperature information of the electrically-driven motor has shown a temper ature surpassing a predetermined one. CONSTITUTION:When a 'handle' 1 is rotated by operation, steerage torque occurs at an input shaft 2 and the direction and size of this torque are detected by a torque sensor 10 and its output together with the output of a vehicle speed sensor 11 is inputted into a motor control device c. And an electrically-driven motor m is driven according to steerage torque and vehicle speed, and the steering power is made to be assisted by the rotation of a pinion meshing with a rack 6. On this occasion, the electrically-driven motor m is provided with a temperature sensor 12 and its output is inputted into the motor control device c. And the temperature-detecting value of the electrically-driven motor m and a temperature-setting value are made to be compared, and when the temperature-detecting value is higher than the temperature-setting value, the drive of the electrically-driven motor m is made to be stopped when vehicle speed and steerage torque are under setting values.</p> |
