PURPOSE:To perform the part recording of a Hi-Fi audio signal by adding an audio signal which is delayed by one vertical period to an audio signal which is not delayed, and recording the resulting signal and a video signal on video tracks alternately. CONSTITUTION:A left-channel audio signal from a terminal 8 and a left-channel audio signal which is delayed by one vertical period through a delay line 12 are modulated by FM modulators 17 and 16. Those modulated signals are added together by an adder 20 and recorded by heads 5 and 6 alternately on adjacent video tracks of a magnetic tape 7 through a switch 3 which is switched at intervals of one vertical period. A right-channel signal from a terminal 8 is the same and multiple recording on the same track is not performed, so the post recording of a Hi-Fi audio signal is possible. Those signals are reproduced similarly.
