<p>A turbocharger having an exhaust gas driven turbine wheel (16) for rotatably driving a compressor impeller, including a turbine housing having a exducer (58, 59) into which exhaust gases are discharged from the turbine wheel. A bypass (22) in the turbine housing and a pivoting wastegate valve (20) co-operate to provide an efficient exhaust ejector for drawing gases through the exducer to reduce back-pressure on the engine. The turbine housing further includes an air vent (84) for circulation of cooling air between the bypass and exducer.</p> |
