Known control devices, for example those for controlling the lift frame of fork-lift trucks, have pivotable spring-returnable actuating levers 10 which project through an opening 14 in the housing, the opening 14 being closed by a cover 12 fixed to the actuating lever 10. In order to create a safeguard against unintentional actuation of the actuating lever 10, the proposal is to make the cover 12 cylindrical or spherical and provide it with a projection 13, the shape of which corresponds to that of the housing opening 14. <IMAGE>
