PURPOSE:To form a flame-retardant compsn. which has excellent flexibility and mechanical characteristics and is lowly pollutant, by blending a linear low-density polyethylene with a poly-alpha-olefin, a rubber and a non-halogen flame retarder. CONSTITUTION:This flame-retardant compsn. is formed from a linear low-density polyethylene (a), a poly-alpha-olefin (b), a rubber (c) and a non-halogen flame retarder (d). The preferred content is such that the component (a) is 100pts.wt., the component (b) is 30-350pts.wt., the component (c) is 10-100pts.wt. and the component (d) is 50-200pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of the total amount of the components (a), (b) and (c). The component (a) is a copolymer having a density of 0.90-0.94 and a melt index of 0.1-20, composed of a 4-16C olefin and ethylene. The component (b) is a copolymer having a density of 0.86-0.89 and a melt index of 0.5-10, composed of a 4-8C olefin and ethylene. As the component (c), hydrated metal oxides are preferred. |
