PURPOSE:To improve the sensitivity of a photosensitive body and to reduce the cost thereof by providing a photosensitive layer contg. a specific bis-azo pigment as an electric charge generating material. CONSTITUTION:This photosensitive body is constituted of, for example, a conductive substrate 11, and the photosensitive layer 191 consisting of an electric charge generating layer 15 contg. the bis-azo pigment 13 expressed by the formula and charge transfer layer 17. In the formula, A denotes a coupler residue, R denotes H, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, aryl, benzoyl, cyano, etc., n denotes 1-4. The reverse disposition of the layer 15 and the layer 17 and the combined formation of said layers to a single layer are equally possible. The photosensitive body having the high sensitivity and excellent durability is inexpensively obtd. by using the bis-azo pigment 13 as the charge generating material. |
