DISPLAY DEVICE USING GUEST-HOST TYPE COLOR LIQUID CRYSTAL

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve contrast and viewability by dissolving a coloring matter in the same group of color and having a specified dichroism ratio in a liquid crystal. CONSTITUTION:A coloring matter having >=2 different dichroism ratio in the same color group is dissolved in a liquid crystal. For example, a coloring matter (II) having >=2 different dichroism ratio in the same color group as ( I ) which is an essential component of liquid crystal compsn. is mixed with ( I ) and dissolved. By this method, the contrast ratio of the liquid crystal display device is improved and superior viewability is obtd.
