PURPOSE:To decrease the size of a write protector remarkably and to improve the function of a disk cassette by providing a recessed part exerting a force to the surface of the protector so as to move the protector. CONSTITUTION:The write protector 8 is formed as a rectangular plate slightly larger than a window 7 of a lower case 4 of a cassette in the outer shape, a nearly square hole 8a corresponding to the window 6 of the upper case is formed to the upper half and a nearly square projection 8b is formed to the lower half. Further, the write protector 7 is fitted to the window 7 of the lower case 4 and the inside of the part adjacent upward freely slidably in the arrows A, B. Then a circular recess 8c is formed to the center of the surface of the projection 8b. Through the structure above, the cassette user puts in a pen tip or the like to the recess 8c and applies a force toward the A, B via the recess 8c and the write protector 8 is moved in the directions A, B.
