PURPOSE:To provide sure operation by making two functions with low power consumption and simple construction, wherein the two functions signify a one to prohibit ignition through judgment about on/off of a switch which is actuated according to the start admissible condition in the period of engine start, and another which is to continue ignition after the engine start. CONSTITUTION:An ignition prohibit circuit 23 is composed of resistances 27, 28, 29 and a transistor 30, and if a switch 4 is off, a thyristor 8 is prohibited from triggering to put the engine impracticable to start. Once the engine is started, an ignition continue circuit 24 stops the ignition prohibit circuit 23 functioning regardless of the switch 4 being on or off. That is, when voltage of an ignition capacitor 2 oppositely charged at the time of ignition output is to discharge via primary side diodes 32, 33 of an ignition coil 15, a capacitor 36 is charged with neg. voltage generated at the gate of the thyristor 8, and a transistor 39 is turned on by the discharge current at the time, while the above-mentioned transistor 30 of the ignition prohibit circuit 23 is turned off by the collector output at the time.
