PURPOSE:To provide a multicolor thermal color recording material wherein the image stability of a low temp. color forming layer is excellent, by containing a compound having a specific structure and a specific range of m.p. in a multicolor thermal recording material wherein a color erasing layer is provided between thermal color forming layers. CONSTITUTION:In a multicolor thermal recording material wherein two or more thermal color forming layers respectively different in color forming energy and forming colors different in hue are successively laminated to a support so that the layer having lower color forming energy forms an upper layer and at least one color erasing layer is provided between the thermal color forming layers, a compound having a structure represented by formula I (wherein R1 and R2 are an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group and may be bonded together to form a ring) and having m.p. of 140-250 deg.C is contained. The proper user quantity thereof is 1.0-5.0g/m<2>. In this case, when m.p. is lower than 140 deg.C, color fading action re-advances by temp. and humidity and the scanning density of the low temp. color forming layer becomes low. When the m.p. is higher than 250 deg.C, color erasing is not performed sufficiently and a color mixture is generated. Therefore, by setting m.p. to the above mentioned range, a multicolor thermal recording material excellent in the image stability of the low temp. color forming layer and color separability is obtained. |
