PURPOSE:To enable the optimum control of an engine to be performed when it is in unsteady operation, by correcting the supply amount of fuel and the ignition timing in accordance with a correction coefficient in which a change rate of intake pipe pressure is used as the parameter. CONSTITUTION:When a throttle valve 3 is detected to be started opening by a position sensor 4 in the acceleration time of an engine 1, a change rate of pressure in an intake pipe 2, that is, a change amount per unit time or unit rpm of the engine 1 is calculated in a control unit 10 on the basis of a change in an electric signal from a pressure sensor 5. And a correction coefficient, in which said change rate is used as the parameter, increases the supply amount of fuel and delays the ignition timing, thus the optimum control is performed by applying a correction with the large correction coefficient in the initial acceleration, where the intake pipe pressure very large changes, while the correction also thereafter corresponding to the change rate. While in the time of deceleration, the control unit decreases the supply amount of fuel and advances the ignition timing on the basis of the change rate of the increasing intake pipe negative pressure.
