PURPOSE:To obtain a good image having excellent developability and fixability by using the polyvalent metal salt of a monomer having a carboxyl group. CONSTITUTION:A monomer compsn. contg. the polymerizable monomer, coloring agent and the polyvalent metal salt of the monomer having the carboxyl group is polymerized in an aq. dispersion medium. The binder resin exhibits the same effect as the effect obtd. when a kind of crosslinking is executed by reacting with the polyvalent metal salt of the monomer having the carboxyl group, by which the mechanical properties at an ordinary temp. are improved and the impact resistance and toughness are improved; further, an electric charge characteristic is improved. The developing characteristics as a toner are eventually improved. The offset resistance at a high temp. is remarkably improved if the toner is fixed by a heat roller fixing machine. The crosslinking by the metal salt is by the ionic bond or coordinate bond and is weaker than the crosslinking by a covalent bond such as ordinary divinyl benzene. The crosslinking structure is destructed by heating in the fixing stage and the viscoelasticity preferable for fixing and offset characteristics is eventually provided to the toner. |
