PURPOSE:To hold and control the quantity of a developer with a high precision by sweeping the developer toward a developing sleeve at a period, which is different among plural divided areas in the lengthwise direction of the developing sleeve, by a rotating developer agitating member. CONSTITUTION:A crank-shaped rotting agitating rod member 4 which has a length corresponding to an overall length L of a developing sleeve 2 consists of agitating rod parts 4A and 4B which correspond to areas LA and LB in the lengthwise direction of the sleeve 2 and have phases shifted from each other by about 180 deg.. Since the member 4 is formed in this manner, the apparent variance of the quantity of the developer due to rotation of the member 4 is shifted between developer accumulation parts of areas LA and LB of the member 4 by a half period per one rotation of the member 4. As the result, apparent variances of the quantity of the developer in areas LA and LB are averaged with respect to the overall area L of the sleeve 2 and this averaged result is obtained as the sensor output of an antenna line. Consequently, the degree of variance of the sensor output accompanied with rotation of the member is reduced to a half, and the quantity of the developer is held and controlled with a high precision. |
