PURPOSE:To cool a high output ultraviolet lamp properly and uniformly, in a lamp used in the curing of ultraviolet-curing ink, by providing three air blow- off ports and selectively using the same corresponding to the irradiating direction of an irradiator. CONSTITUTION:The open air is supplied in an irradiator 1 through an air supply duct adapter 2 and sprayed to an ultraviolet lamp 5 through the central air blow-off port A provided between the upper parts of two reflecting plates 3 and the air blow-off ports B, C respectively provided to the lower parts thereof. Air is sprayed to the circumferential surface of the lamp 5 from the air blow-off ports A, B, C in directions of almost trisecting the surface of said lamp 5. For example, at the time of upward irradiation (b), the air blow-off port A is closed to use the air blow-off ports B, C and, like this, any of the air blow-off ports is selectively used so as to effectively cool the upper surface reaching the highest temp. of the ultraviolet lamp in the irradiation direction. By this method, cooling control is easily applied even to the ultraviolet lamp which the unit output exceeds 160W/cm and the temp. of the lamp can be uniformly controlled to tolerant temp. or less. |
