PURPOSE:To read recording information in an excellent way by moving a beam spot to a forward and backward address to a position corresponding to a track jump just preceding address and applying normal reproduction when a track jump takes place again at the same position and the jumped track is the same. CONSTITUTION:A processor of a controller 12 stores the present and preceding address information in a RAM 24 as a track jump just preceding and a track jump just succeeding address respectively when the difference between the present and preceding address information obtained attended with the movement of an information detection point of a pickup 1 is a prescribed value or over. When the difference between the present and preceding value obtained by moving relatively the information detection point in the prolonged direction again is a prescribed value or over, the track jump just preceding address and the preceding address, and the track jump just succeeding address and the present value are compared, and when they are coincident, the information detection point is moved forward and backward by a prescribed distance from a position corresponding to the track jump just preceding address and the normal reproduction is executed.
