PURPOSE:To quicken the settlement velocity of sludge by using natural zeolite as an accelerator for settling sludge to separate sludge and supernatant liquid. CONSTITUTION:In case of treating drainage incorporating organic components by an activated sludge process, 0.01-3wt% natural zeolite such as mordenite, chabazite, clinoptilolite, ferrierite and faujasite is added to drainage as an accelerator for settling sludge. Thereby sludge can be settled at a short time and solid-liquid separation can be facilitated.
