PURPOSE:To improve safety, to reduce cost and to miniaturize a small-sized transformer by using an electric wire with two layers or more of insulating layers, the total thickness of the whole layers of which extends over 5-500mum. CONSTITUTION:Insulating layers in electric wires employed for a primary winding 7 and a secondary winding 9 are formed in multilayers, and the total thickness of the insulating layers is brought to 5-500mum. The electric wire having three-layer insulating structure in which the film 2 of polyester in 10mum is attached onto the surface of a wire such as a copper wire 1, the film 3 of polyester imide in 20mum is annexed onto the film 2 and the film 4 of polyester in 10mum is affixed onto the film 3 is manufactured. The electric wires are employed for the primary winding 7 and the secondary winding 9 and the primary winding 7 is wound on a bobbin 6, and the secondary winding 9 is wound onto the primary winding 7 without particularly executing insulating treatment, and cores 5 are incorporated, thus shaping a transformer. Accordingly, an insulating tape, etc., are unnecessitated, keeping the safety of insulation, thus miniaturizing the transformer.
