PURPOSE:To separate a photosensitive body and a transfer belt from each other to easily replace the photosensitive body by a user by providing the transfer belt abutting on the photosensitive body and providing a transfer belt release member which releases abutting between the transfer belt and the photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:A latent image is formed on a photosensitive body 13 by an optical part 21 and is developed by a developing unit 15 and is transferred to a recording paper by a transfer belt 17 and is fixed to obtain an electrophotograph. A transfer belt release member supporting plate 27 and a developing press-fitting member 33 are provided. The member 33 is turned by an operating lever 32 to turn a release member lifting plate 30. Then, a separating part 19 in the end part of the supporting plate 27 is lifted together with the transfer belt 17 to separate the transfer belt 17 from the photosensitive body 13. A notch 35 of the member 33 is engaged with a projection 36 of the developing unit 15 in accordance with the operation of the operating lever 32, and the developing unit 15 is turned around a revolving shaft 16 to separate it from the photosensitive body 13. Since the transfer belt release member is provided, the transfer belt is easily separated from the photosensitive body to replace the photosensitive body.
