PURPOSE:To automatically attach a cover to a transmitting document by providing a transmitting means for attaching the cover and transmitting the document based on communication information inputted by an input means. CONSTITUTION:The document indicated by a transmission document number 3b is read from a floppy disk 8. After the processing, whether the document indicated by the transmission document number 3b is normally read or not is decided, if it is normally read, the read document data is loaded in a transmission document data area 3c. Thereafter, the contents stored in an area 3a on the cover are sequentially transmitted. When the transmission is completed, all the information loaded in the transmission document data area 3c is sequentially transmitted from a leading page. A transmitting processing is completed when a final page is completed to be transmitted.
