PURPOSE:To obtain a more usable both-face copying device by comparing the specified number of sheets with the number of sheets stacked on an intermediate tray at the time of feeding paper from the tray, and when the number of sheets stacked on the tray is less than the specified number, outputting alarm display. CONSTITUTION:A printer 2 feeds paper from a paper feeding cassette 401, or 402, a paper deck 3 or an intermediate tray 403 by respective paper feeding rollers and carrying rollers. When paper feeding from an intermediate tray 412 is designated, the specified number of sheets is compared with the number of sheets stacked on the tray 412, and if the number of sheets stacked on the tray 412 is less than the specified number, the shown number of sheets is turned on and off to alarm the lack of sheets to an operator. Therefore, the operator executes copying only by the stacked sheets by depressing a copy key, or after temporarily stopping the operation by depressing a stop key, executes single-side copying or the like only by the necessary number of sheets. |
