NEW MATERIAL:A polymerizable imidazole compound shown by formula I (n is 5-15; R is H or 1-6C lower hydrocarbon). EXAMPLE:Ethyl 15-(1-imidazolyl)pentadeca-trans-2, trans-4-dienoate. USE:A polymerizable imidazole compound capable of providing polymerized liposome by copolymerization with polymerizable phospholipid and of well suppressing release of liposome to the outside. PREPARATION:Thionyl chloride is reacted with methanol and then with an omega-bromoalkanoic acid to give an omega-bromoalkanoic acid methyl ester, which is then reacted with sodium salt of imidazole and further with diisobutylaluminum hydride to give a corresponding aldehyde. On the other hand, bromocrotonic ester is reacted with triethyl phosphite to give a compound shown by formula II, which is reacted with the aldehyde to give a compound shown by formula I (with the proviso that R is hydrocarbon).
