PURPOSE:To simplify structure by providing a preparing station before a machining station, providing two idle stations close to said preparing station, and installing a workpiece on a pallet at said preparing station. CONSTITUTION:A preparing station B is provided before and close to a machining station A which is a working position for a machine tool, e.g., a vertical lathe 1, to carry out a preparing operation by installing a workpiece on a pallet P. A pair of idle stations C1, C2 are provided close to the preparing station B and temporarily hold the pallet P. A pallet transferring means 20 for delivering and accepting the pallet P to and form another station and a pallet rotating means 15 are provided on the preparing station B. Accordingly, the preparation of a workpiece onto the pallet P and the transfer of the pallet P are generally carried out at this preparing station B. |
