PURPOSE:To adjust an optical axis with high accuracy within a short period by detecting the position of a laser beam at two points and automatically adjusting the position of a light source only by difference between the two points. CONSTITUTION:When the position of a laser beam emitted from the light source 11 is changed, 1st and 2nd detectors 14, 15 detect the change and send signals having a level corresponding to the changed value to a driving means 16. When the 1st detector 14 detects the beam positions x1, z1 of the X and Z directions intersecting with each other on a plane vertical to the optical axis and the 2nd detector 15 detects the beam positions x2, z2 of the X and Z directions, a driving means 16 slightly moves the other end of the light source 11 in the X and Z direction only by a distance corresponding to (s2 - x1) and (z2 - z1) to adjust the optical axis. Consequently, the change of the optical axis can be automatically adjusted with high accuracy, the time required for the adjustment can be shortened and environmental change can be made constant by removing personal entrance and exit for adjustment.
