PURPOSE:To develop the software of an FA controller just with a single software developing device by separating the controller of the FA controller from the developing device and performing the control program editing job and the debug processing through the software developing device. CONSTITUTION:At the time of an editing operation, an editor 24a is loaded to a RAM 26 from an auxiliary storage device 24 and then a control program 24d is loaded to be edited by a compiler 24c. Then an object 24e is produced by the device 24 as long as no compiling error is detected. At the time of a debug processing, a relevant FA controller 11 is connected with a software developing device 12. Then the object 24e is loaded to a RAM 26' of the controller 11 from the device 24 through interfaces 27 and 27'. An operator stops forcibly the program execution or performs the debug processing to change programs and substitute data, etc., with the input received from a keyboard 23 while looking at a CRT 22 after the run of the program 24d is started.
