THERMAL TRANSFER RECORDING INK RIBBON

PURPOSE:To obtain extremely favorable gradation properties and image quality which are comparable to those of images obtained by a thermal sublimation transfer system, by using a mixed wax comprising a heat-fusible substance and a wax having melting points in specified temperature ranging for each ink layer. CONSTITUTION:This ink ribbon is characterized by the proportions of a wax and a resin used for each ink layer. Namely, a mixed wax comprising at least one wax A having a melting point of 45-70 deg.C and at least one heat-fusible substance B having a melting or softening point of 100-200 deg.C is used. By using the wax A and the heat-fusible substance B in mixture, gradation properties of transferred images are greatly enhanced as compared with those obtained by using the wax A or the heat-fusible substance B singly.
