PURPOSE:To efficiently recover a low-boiling oil and naphthalene contained in a coke oven gas, by distilling off naphthalene together with a low-boiling oil from the run-off column head, feeding the distillate into a low-boiling oil column to recover the low-boiling oil, and feeding the bottom into a naphthalene column to recover naphthalene, thereby efficiently recovering both a low-boiling oil and naphthalene contained in a coke oven gas. CONSTITUTION:A method which comprises feeding an absorption oil absorbing therein a low-boiling oil and naphthalene contained in a coke oven gas into a run-off column to run off the low-boiling oil and naphthalene from the absorption oil, thereby recovering the components. Naphthalene and a low-boiling oil are distilled off form the head of a run-off column. The distilled oil is fed into a low-boiling oil column. The operating pressure of the bottom of the column is reduced to 500Torr or less, followed by distillation to recover a low-boiling oil from the column head. The bottom of the low-boiling oil column is fed into a naphthalene column wherein the operating pressure of the bottom of the column is 0-1kg/cm<2>G or a slight degree of reduced pressure, followed by distillation. Thus, 95% or more of naphthalene is recovered from the head of the naphthalene column while utilizing the potential heat of steam distilled from the head of the naphthalene column as the heat source of the low-boiling oil column.
