PURPOSE:To obtain a treating liquid which ensures favorable inking property of an ink and restrains scumming or tinting from occurring, by incorporating a specified compound. CONSTITUTION:A compound of the formula, wherein each of R1-R4 is independently hydrogen, a 1-7C substd. or unsubstd. alkyl, alkenyl, aryl or aralkyl, and A<-> is hydroxyl or a monovalent acid residue, is incorporated in a treating liquid. In the formula, the total number of carbon atoms in R1-R4 is preferably not more than 16, and two or more of R1-R4 are not simultaneously hydrogen. Two of R1-R4 may be linked to each other to form a ring, and such a ring may contain a hetero-atom, e.g. a nitrogen atom, an oxygen atom or a sulfur atom. At least one such compound can be used either singly or in combination in an amount (the total amount in the case of the combination) of 0.001-5wt%. By this, excellent performance inking property of an ink, scumming or the like can be obtained. |
