PURPOSE:To enhance the gain of propeller wakes to enhance the propulsion efficiency of a ship, by arranging a pair of longitudinal fins and a transverse fin in a stern of a ship so that a slow velocity stream along the outer shell of a hull is rectified in the plane of the propeller. CONSTITUTION:A pair of longitudinal fins 6a, 6b are secured, extending from both sides of outer shell of a hull before a propeller, in the stern of the ship attached thereto with the propeller, to both side sections of the propeller shaft 5. Further, an arcuated transverse fin 7 is provided between the longitudinal fins 6a, 6b at the level corresponding to the upper section of the diametrical area 9 of the propeller 5. Further, the longitudinal fins 6a, 6b and the transverse fin 7 guide steam along the hull onto the center line of the hull in the rear of the stern frame so that slow velocity streams are accelerated in that part. Further, the transverse fin 7 may accelerate slow velocity stream above the stern frame and guides the same into the propeller inner surface. Thereby it is possible to greatly improve the distribution of propeller wakes.
