PURPOSE:To extend the life of, and improve the reliability of an intake air exciting device through permitting the intake air exciting device to function only in case of necessity by providing an intake air exciting device in an intake air passage, and then, when the engine is in the low-load operating range, causing a control valve to close so as to make the intake air exciting device inoperative. CONSTITUTION:There is provided an intake air exciting device 20 in an intake air passage 11 which is made up of each of the independent exhaust air passages 5A-5D and an intake air main passage 6. In addition, in the intake air exciting device 20 is provided a positive displacement part 21, whose one side is connected to the intake air passage 11, and the other side is connected by means of a pressure conduit tube 10 to an exhaust air passage 12. And further, within the positive displacement part 21 is provided a partition 24, which is supported with a spring 26 and provided with a bellows member 25 on its surroundings, so that the inside of the positive displacement part 21 is partitioned into an intake air chamber 22 which is connected to the intake air passage 11 side and an exhaust air passage 23 which is connected to an exhaust air passage 12 side. While, in the pressure conduit tube 10 is provided an opening and closing control valve 19, and then, the opening and closing control valve 19 is kept closed when the engine is in the low-load operating range, and caused to open gradually as the throttle opening increases.
