PURPOSE:To suppress the enlargement of the interval between a force acting part and the center of a load detector, by constituting a buffer device so as to surround the load detector. CONSTITUTION:When force acts on an acting part 2, said force successively passes through a Z-axis block 8, Z-axis parallel flat plates 7a, 7b, and X-axis block 3, X-axis parallel flat plates 5a, 5b, a Y-axis block 4 and Y-axis parallel flat plates 6a, 6b and reaches a load detector 1 from flange 1b to detect load. Further, said force is transmitted, for example, to the robot arm, connected to a flange 1a, from the flange 1a. The force component in an X-axis (or Y-axis, Z-axis) direction of the force allows only the flat plates 5a, 5b (or 6a, 6b, 7a, 7b) to bend. The displacement generated by the bending of said flat plates does not change the direction of the force. By this constitution, the buffering function of this buffer device is developed sufficiently to protect a load detector and the buffer device surrounds the load detector and, therefore, the distance between the force acting part in the acting part 2 and the center of the load detector can be shortened.
