PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for complicated driving mechanism, and to miniaturize a device by forming the device in a simplified structure, by providing an optical path change mirror freely rotatably in a scan direction, and setting an image-forming lens, and an image sensor freely movably. CONSTITUTION:By lightening a lamp 22 in a light source 21, light from the lamp 22, after the line length of the luminous flux being expanded by a toric lens 23, is projected on an optical path change mirror 12. The light reflected on the optical path change mirror 12 is image-formed on a plane 11 to be read, and is projected on the plane 11 to be read. And reflected light from the plane 11 to be read is lightconverted in the direction of an image-forming lenas 19 by the optical path change mirror 12, then it is read by an image sensor 20. At such a time, the optical path change mirror 12 is turned by a mirror cam 27 in a driving device 25, simultaneously, a lens cam 28 is also rotated, and a slider cam is moved by a distance corresponding to the turning angle of the optical path change mirror through a slider lever 31.
