PURPOSE:To facilitate the switching of a mechanism with priority by controlling a head switching circuit by the switch operation so as to switch 1st and 2nd mechanism heads selectively. CONSTITUTION:The major part consists of the mechanism block A provided with the 1st mechanism 21A, a drive circuit 22A and a logic control circuit 23A, a mechanism block B provided with the 2nd mechanism 21B, a drive circuit 22B and a logic control circuit 23B, a head switching circuit 24 switching the reproducing enable state of 1st mechanism 11A and the 2nd mechanism 11B selectively, and a selection circuit 25 controlling the head switching circuit 24 to switch the reproduction enable state of each mechanism selectively. Thus, the switching of the mechanism with priority is easily attained and the operability of the tape recorder is remarkably improved.
