PURPOSE:To reduce the number of the taps of a transversal filter which is necessary to remove ghost by combining the output of a Hilbert converter and the output of a fixed delay circuit. CONSTITUTION:A signal process circuit 46 has a factor unit 53 which increases the output of a Hilbert converter 52 by b-fold and a factor unit 54 which increases the output of a fixed delay circuit 51 by a-fold and an adder 55 which adds the outputs of both factor units. The output of the adder 55 is supplied to a transversal filter TF1 through a variable delay circuit 56. The signal in which ghost is deleted by a subtracter 42 is supplied to a process circuit 46 and a filter control circuit 47. The control circuit 47 detects the amount of included ghost form the supplied signal and according to the detected output, the specified operation is executed so as to decide the value of the factors (a) and (b). Thus the number of taps of the transversal filter which is needed to remove the ghost can be reduced.
