PURPOSE:To allow a motor to keep the positioning with high accuracy without being affected by driven strokes, by driving and controlling in a closed loop in the region necessary for positioning with high accuracy and in an open loop in the other regions. CONSTITUTION:A motor coil 101 is formed by accurate driving coils 111A and 111B and intermittent driving coils 121A and 121B. The coils 111A and 111B are connected to an accurate drive circuit 1 and the coils 121A and 121B to an intermittent drive circuit 2. Hall IC's 102 are formed by accurate driving Hall IC's 112A and 11 112B and intermittent driving Hall IC's 122A and 122B. These Hall IC's are also connected to drive circuits 1 and 2 respectively. A linear scale head 6A feeds back the position information to the accurate drive circuit 1. A commander 3 gives command values to the accurate drive circuit 1 and the intermittent driver circuit 2.
