A description is given of a cooling arrangement for an internal combustion engine (1) of a vehicle, especially a motor vehicle, which has a main conduit system (3, 4), connecting the internal combustion engine (1) to a radiator (2), having a coolant pump (5) and controlled by a thermostatic valve (6), and a bypass conduit system (11, 12), in which a coolant expansion tank (10) connected to the radiator (2) by way of a vent line (11) and to the coolant inlet of the internal combustion engine (1) by way of a return line (12) is provided. In order to shorten the warm-up time of the internal combustion engine by reducing the volume of circulating coolant, the coolant expansion tank (10) is to be divided into at least two coolant storage spaces (16, 17), of which only the smaller storage space (16) is connected to the coolant circulating in the bypass circuit when the main conduit system (3, 4) is shut off by the thermostatic valve (6). <IMAGE>
