The present invention serves for making it possible to carry out an evaporation operation of liquid gas from commercially available gas cartridges even at very low degrees of cold as occur on a more long-term basis in winter in Central Europe and in other northern countries, by the heat loss which inevitably arises during this evaporation being compensated by an adequate heat supply without, however, another special heat source being necessary to this end. At outside temperatures from -10 DEG C, so much heat is extracted from the cartridge contents during an evaporation that the temperature gradually falls below its boiling point and the evaporation consequently stops. The heat compensation arises in case of need by external diversion of the flame heat present from the combustion nozzle to the upper part of the cartridge wall. It takes place via a very thin sheet-copper hood which runs along the burner pipe from the combustion nozzle to the head part of the gas cartridge, bears closely against the latter and is protected to the outside. The heat source is formed by the burning flame, in which narrow, short and correspondingly shaped sheet-copper tongues are immersed with their tips and divert the heat flow. An evaporation which is taking place remains uniform and constant at very low temperatures. The extent of the heat supply complies with the relevant safety provisions according to the DIN standard and does not exceed the limit of +50 DEG C. The device, which is designed as a separate part, can ... Original abstract incomplete.
