The turbulence control system comprises first and second baffles (6, 7) fixedly connected across the interior of the intra-channel clarifier (1) between side walls (9) near the point of entry (35) of wastewater into the clarifier, the first baffle (6) covering the upper portion of the cross-sectional flow area within the clarifier, and the second baffle (7) being just downstream of the first baffle and covering the lower portion of the cross-sectional flow, left uncovered by the first baffle. There may also be provided an accumulation baffle (11) near the bottom of the clarifier extending to a height which does not impede settlement of sludge within the clarifier. Another feature is a guide vane (18) fixedly attached to the clarifier beneath its bottom (10) and running parallel to the length of the clarifier. A pair of hinged wings (24, 25) may be mounted on the bow (3) of the clarifier. |
